Academics
In addition to career training, Guthrie Job Corps also provides academic training, including basic reading and math. Courses in independent living, employability skills, and social skills are offered in order to help students transition into the workplace. We also have several academic programs to help our students achieve their full potential.
GED/High School Diploma
One of our top goals at Guthrie Job Corps is to ensure that every qualified student obtains his or her GED/high school diploma prior to leaving the center. Students who don't already have a high school diploma upon their arrival at Guthrie can enroll our GED or high school diploma programs.
Advanced Career Training
Our Advanced Career Training (ACT) program is a college program for eligible students to achieve a higher level of career training. To enroll in ACT, you must be in good standing, have completed To be eligible for the ACT program, a student must have been at our center for at least sixty days, have completed a career technical training program, and be eligible to apply for Pell Grants.
Our center offers a wide range of advanced diploma, certificate, and associate's degree programs through the following colleges:
- Canadian Valley Technology Center
- Francis Tuttle Technology Center
- Langston University
- Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC)
- Redland Community College
- Rose State College
- University of Central Oklahoma
